Ronald Karauri, former SportPesa Chief Executive Officer (CEO), was declared the winner of the Kasarani parliamentary seat.
He emerged victorious after garnering 32,406 votes in the just concluded election and was vying for the position on an independent ticket. This was after he failed to secure the Jubilee ticket in the party nominations.
Karauri was glad about the victory, thanking Kasarani residents for giving him a chance to represent them in parliament and serve them.
“What God has done no man can undo. It’s a new dawn in Kasarani,” the businessman posted on his social media account after his triumphant success.
John Kamau of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), his closest competitor, got 30,444 votes while Jubilee Party’s Mercy Gakuya was third with 24,790 votes.
Kasarani constituency registered 155,405 voters and had a voter turnout of 91,774 in the Tuesday elections.
