Several structures of unknown value at Kisumu Boys High School have been razed down in an early morning inferno.
However, no causalities have been reported so far as a joint effort by Kisumu County and Kenya Airports Authority firefighters called upon to contain the fire.
Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) George Magoha has since said anyone found culpable in the incident will be punished.
He said the ministry has put efforts to ensure all children have a suitable learning environment while at the same time reiterating current term will continue as is, and no additional time will be added.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
