DCI summons Kalonzo over Yatta land grabbing probe

Wiper Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has appeared before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road over 200 acre Yatta land grabbing probe.
The DCI wants Kalonzo to clarify his acquisition and ownership of the Yatta land which the Deputy President William Ruto claimed he grabbed from National Youth Service.
“Just arrived at the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) accompanied by my legal team to honour summons,” Kalonzo tweeted.
This is the second time this year that Kalonzo is appearing before authorities.
In January this year, Kalonzo, accompanied by his legal team and other Wiper leaders presented himself at DCI offices with papers showing how he acquired the land.
Ruto had accused Kalonzo of doing nothing during his 40 years in government apart from illegally acquiring the Yatta land.
“You have been in leadership for 40 years without doing anything and your only record is that you are living on government land, which you have turned to be yours,” the DP said.
However, Kalonzo termed the claims as wild and desperate propaganda, describing himself as a person of high moral and ethical standards.
“I have nothing to hide and I challenge the authorities to open an investigation into this matter. I am today presenting myself for investigation by the DCI as well as the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission,” Kalonzo said.
He challenged Ruto to also present himself before investigative agencies and open himself up for a thorough lifestyle audit.
“As a public officer entrusted with the responsibility of Kenyans, DP Ruto must open himself up to a lifestyle audit and declare his wealth,” he said.
