Two people died and several others injured after the vehicle they were travelling in rolled several times at Nyagondo shopping center along the busy Kisumu-Siaya highway on Sunday evening.
The two a driver and a passenger died while receiving treatment at Bama and Sagam hospitals respectively in Siaya county.
According to Mrs Agather Achieng, a victim of the accident admitted at Bama hospital in Siaya town, the accident occurred at around 8:00 pm when they were travelling from Kisumu to Siaya town.
Mrs Achieng who was from Kisumu in preparation for a funeral of her mother in law at Nyakack over the weekend said the accident happened when the driver tried to evade a mad woman who was squatting in the middle of the road.
