IDPs now threaten to sue coordination committee for sidelining them

Internally Displaced Persons in Molo have threatened to sue the National Coordination Consultative Committee for producing a list that does not include their names for compensation.

Led by their Chairperson Mrs Jackline Wangeshi, the IDPs said they will sue the committee which was allocated Ksh6 billion in the 2016/2017 budget to compensate the IDPs.

“The committee has put names of fake IDPs that intend to be compensated and omitted names of genuine IDPs,” she said.

She further complained that the commission did not vet the names.

“We are asking the Auditor General to intervene in the matter to audit how the Sh6 billion will be used because there seems to be massive corruption, ” she complained.

Area Member of County Assembly (Nyota Ward) Njuguna Gichamu asked the committee led by Aden Wachu to compensate the genuine IDPs.

He alleged that some officials from the committee are misusing the office.
