Sharp differences have emerged between political leaders from Kirinyaga county and group of professionals led by internal security PS Dr Karanja Kibicho over voter’s registration mobilization campaign.
The differences are being attributed to lack of coordination and control of campaign fund. The bad blood is threatening to stall the mobilization campaign and affect the overall result.
According to Kirinyaga county women rep aspirant Wangui Ngirichi, the two teams are working at close purpose each pulling in different direction. Wangui who led one campaign accused PS Kibicho of working as a lone ranger and failing to consult other leaders in the campaign.
She said that the PS and his group which comprises professionals and business community from the county have given political class total black out a move she warned has affected the overall campaign input and demanded for harmonization of the two groups.
Ms Wangui also claimed that Kibicho group has a lot of resources at their disposal and should share with politicians so that they can assist in mobilization instead of using professionals who have no touch on the ground.
‘’Am appealing to all groups to come together and have one coordinating team which will spearhead the campaign, let harmonize all groups so that we can work as unit’’.
She posed. But in a press statement the internal security PS dismissed the politician’s assertions pointing that the claim of sabotage was imed at maligning his name. He said that neither Jubilee nor the government has given money to facilitate voter registration mobilization campaign.
The outspoken PS said that what politicians are looking for doesn’t exist and called them to concentrate on mobilization campaign without introducing side shows. He said ‘’what politicians are looking for doesn’t exist and the earlier they accept that reality the better for those of us who want to see Kirinyaga prosper’’.
