The High Court in Kisii has dismissed an election petition challenging the victory of Jimmy Angwenyi as Kitutu Chache North MP.
The court also slapped petitioner Robert Ndemo with Sh2 million costs to be paid to the respondents.
Justice Hellen Omondi said Angwenyi, who was the first respondent, will receive Sh1 million while Returning Officer Eunice Chelangat and the IEBC will take the remaining Sh1 million.
“The petition fails and is dismissed with costs capped at Sh1 million to the first respondent and another Sh1 million to the second and third respondents.”
