The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), has retained fuel prices at the same level despite the increase in landed costs for the period between January 15 and February 14, 2022.
In a statement today EPRA, Director General Kiptoo Bargoria indicated that the cost of fuel will remain unchanged for the third month in a row.
Super petrol will retail at Sh129.72 per litre in Nairobi, while diesel will retail at Sh110.60 in Nairobi.
Kerosene prices will also trade at Sh103.54, similar to the previous month.
In Mombasa, Super Petrol will continue retailing at sh. 127.46, Diesel sh. 108.36 and Kerosene at sh101.29.
In Nakuru Super petrol will retail at Sh129.24, Diesel Sh110.43 and Kerosene at Sh103.39.
The pump price for a litre of petrol in Kisumu was capped at Sh130.12, diesel Sh111.30 and kerosene Sh104.26.
Had the state failed to put in place subsidy, the retail price of the three petroleum products whose prices are regulated would have increased to a historic high.
The average landed cost of imported super petrol increased by 3.595 to US$ 627.80 per litre in November while that of diesel increased by 6.98 per cent to US$ 600.22 per cubic litre.
Kerosene increased by 15.78 per cent to US$ 604.43 per cubic litre.
