KDF chief Kibochi commissions Ulinzi Main Gate House in Nairobi
The Chief of Defence Forces General Robert Kibochi officially commissioned the Ulinzi Main Gate House at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi yesterday.
While commissioning the facility, the CDF emphasised its significance, emphasizing that it will provide an ambient working environment for soldiers because it is equipped with modern state-of-the-art technology capable of continuous monitoring and assessment of the security situation in and around Defence Headquarters.

General Kibochi stated that the facility’s operationalisation is an indication of a dynamic Defense Force that is in tune with the times of mission readiness that has been indoctrinated into the service and lead by example as its motto ‘Tip of the arrow’.

He also stated that the facility’s construction is strategic because it is close to the bus stop on CITAM Valley Road, making it easily accessible to both soldiers and civilian staff accessing the camp.
The modern Ulinzi Main Gate House was built by KDF in collaboration with the now-defunct Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) and Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).
It is part of the modernisation of the Ministry of Defence Headquarters aimed at increasing security and improving traffic flow around the ministry and its surroundings.
