Anglican Development Services (ADS)-Western Limited rocked in leadership feud, fraud claims
A controversial faith based organisation associated with the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) domiciled in western region, the Anglican Development Services (ADS)-Western Limited is marred in intense leadership wrangles amid claims of fraud and misappropriation of donor money, The Informer Media Group can authoritatively reveal.
Our investigations have established that two splinter factions have emerged within the board over alleged financial impropriety within the organisation allegedly perpetuated by an influential board member and two senior secretariat officials.
The board member said to reign terror against fellow directors of the ADS-Western Limited board who raise voice contrary to his wishes is said, alongside a few others to have registered a private company that is allocated tenders worth colossal amounts of money thus raising possible conflict of interest.
Additionally, the said board member said to have gained notoriety is working in cahoots with an official serving in senior management of the oragnisation and another accomplice domiciled in the Finance Department.
The company owned by the board members is also said to be used as a conduit to siphon money from ADS-Western Limited.
“Besides using a company that they own to trade with the organisation and which they influence the award of lucrative tenders in favour of, there are also cases of rampant fraudulent payment of allowances and other reimbursements to board members and other senior managers which are not declared to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) as is the procedure.” Our source intimated.
When contacted for comment, neither the board chairman of the Anglican Development Service Western Limited, Kakamega Right Reverend Joseph Wandera nor the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stephen Amusala responded to our queries sent via mail and as short text messages.
According to the ADS-Western Limited, among their partners and funders include; German Cooperation (GIZ), Welt Hunger Hilfe, ADS Kenya, IFDC, SNV Kenya, USAID, Christian AID, RTI International, World Renew and BROT among others.
ADS- Western Limited is a faith-based development organisation registered on January 6, 1997 as Anglican Church of Kenya – Western Region Christian Community Services (ACK-WRCCS).
It was however rebranded in 2014 giving its current name of Anglican Development Services (ADS)-Western Limited in the context of a national realignment within the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) headed by Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK), the Most Rev. Dr. Jackson Nasoore Ole Sapit.

ADS-Western Limited is the development arm of the six dioceses of the Anglican Church of Kenya Western region namely; Bungoma, Butere, Katakwa, Maseno North, Mumias and Nambale dioceses.
