Njama accuses governor Nyoro for orchestrating his rigging out in Kiambaa Jubilee nominations
Politician Kariri Njama has tendered his resignation as a member of Jubilee party citing unfair treatment from Kiambu governor James Nyoro.
Njama who was seeking to vie for the Kiambaa parliamentary seat says he has been forced to seek alternatives and will be vying for the seat as an independent candidate.
This comes after the Jubilee party denied Njama nomination papers and instead gave the nomination certificate to Damaris Wambui Waiganjo.
Njama who had floored Damaris in the Kiambaa by-elections in July 2021 now says that the jubilee party has acted in a rather unfortunate manner and can’t be trusted by Kenyans.
He intimated that the party is imposing leaders in the inner circles as compared to popular candidates.
Interesting to note, Njama, who seeks elections in the fourth coming polls has lost in the last three consecutive elections, including the Kiambaa by election where he was defeated by UDA’s Njuguna Wanjiku.
According to the IEBC results, Njuguna had floored Njama to win the election by getting 21,773 votes against 21,263 votes.
The Jubilee Party has defended its move to use consensus instead of conducting party nomination.
This despite receiving numerous complaints from aspirants countrywide, faulting consensus.
