Grammy Awards-winning Nigerian music superstar Burna Boy is set to arrive in Nairobi with an entourage of 61 people, including his band, dancers, stylists, and security detail a few days before the highly anticipated MadfunXperience concert at Uhuru Gardens on March 1, 2025.
Sources close to the event confirm that the African Giant hitmaker’s team includes technical experts, sound engineers, and visual directors, all working together to bring a stadium-worthy experience to Nairobi.
“Expect fireworks—literally! Burna Boy has spared no expense when it comes to putting on a world-class show at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi, ensuring every detail is perfected,” said the source.
Word has it that Charisma and Bensoul, who will share the stage with Burna Boy, are also deep in rehearsal to ensure they fly the Kenyan flag high on the day. With thousands of fans ready to turn up, this event is set to be one of the biggest music experiences in East Africa.

Burna Boy, 33, is known for delivering some of the best live performances in the world, and for his MadfunXperience concert in Nairobi, he’s bringing his full 45-man band to ensure fans get the ultimate Afrobeats experience.
His renowned band, The Outsiders, includes top-tier instrumentalists, drummers, back-up vocalists, and a full brass section, guaranteeing an authentic live music experience. Every note, beat, and melody will be performed in real time—no playback, just pure musical excellence.
Burna Boy (real name Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu), who is a singer, songwriter, performer and record producer, gained recognition in 2012 after releasing Like to Party, the lead single from his debut studio album L.I.F.E of 2013.
In 2017, he signed a record deal with Atlantic Records and its parent company Warner Music Group. His third studio album Outside, which also serves as his major label debut, was released in 2018.
In total, he has released eight studio albums, with the latest being No Sign of Weakness, a 21-track opus that was released in 2025. It features a number of high-ranking artistes from across the world including American rapper J. Cole, Nigeria’s Seyi Vibez, Atlanta-based American-British rapper 21 Savage, and American rapper GZA (a founding member of the legendary hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan). Others are British rock band Coldplay, and Nigeria music giants Asake and Wizkid.
