Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro has ditched ODM party for ANC a day after she was fined Sh1 million and barred from contesting the Ruaraka constituency seat on an ODM ticket.
Ongoro moved to ANC saying that she experienced unfairness and mistreatment at her former party.
She further expressed her disappointment with ODM for disqualifying her to vie with the party ticket terming the move as unfair and discriminatory.
She was barred by the party’s disciplinary committee following chaos that rocked the Orange House when she led dozens of youths who attacked the party’s executive director Oduor Ong’wen and left several people injured.
Ongoro had also been required to issue a public apology to the party and its leader Raila Odinga.
