DCI launch manhunt for female officer on a killing spree
The Directorate of Criminal Investigation(DCI) have launched a manhunt for a female police officer who is on a killing spree.
Caroline Kangogo who is a police constable and the main suspect in the murder of John Ogweno, has shot dead yet another man in cold blood in a hotel room.
According to DCI, Kangongo is believed to be the last woman who was seen walking into a room at Hotel Dedamax in Kimbo, Kiambu County where the body of a man identified as Peter Ndwiga was found lifeless.
“The rogue officer who took off with Ogweno’s firearm a loaded Ceska pistol lured a man to Dedamax Hotel in Kimbo, Juja area at around 4 pm yesterday. She later emerged from the room at around midnight and fled to an unknown destination, leaving the dead man’s body sprawled on the bed,” read the statement.
According to detectives, she lured the man to the room after paying for it, before shooting him in the head point-blank.
It is not clear what motivated the second shooting.
Kangogo later told an attendant working at the guest house that she had gone to buy toothpaste, before escaping.
The suspect who is armed and dangerous has been on the run since early yesterday morning, after she killed constable Ogweno, who was based in Nakuru.
“We are cautioning members of the public especially men to be on the lookout for the rogue officer, who is luring men to her trap before executing them in cold blood. According to Nakuru police, Ogweno was found murdered inside his car at the parking lot of the Kasarani quarters.
Nakuru Town East subcounty police commander Phanton Analo said the bleeding was a sign that he had suffered a gunshot to the head.
Analo said the body was laid back on the driver’s seat and had injuries on the head.
Nakuru Town East deputy county commissioner Joseph Tonui said the officer was shot in the head and a used cartridge left at the scene.
“The assailants broke the driver’s window with a metal bar to access the officer,” he said.
Tonui added that the engine of Ogweno’s car was still running as he lay dead inside the car.
He said Ogweno was last seen with his girlfriend who has since gone missing.
He said police with the help of their colleagues from the DCI were working to establish the motive of the murder and to arrest the killers.
“The investigators are looking for the girlfriend and have also picked up Ogweno’s neighbour for questioning,” he said.
