Atheists of Kenya launch scathing attacks towards Rachel Ruto after hosting Nigerian ‘Prophet’

The Atheists in Kenya Society (AIK) have launched a scathing attack on First Lady Rachel Ruto after she hosted ‘Prophet’ Dr. lan Ndlovu and Victor Kusi Boateng at State House Nairobi, yesterday.

Through a statement, society’s president Harrison Mumia termed the move by the First lady as a cynical abuse of religious freedoms.

“It is unacceptable for First Lady Rachel Ruto to host Prophet Dr. lan Ndlovu and Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng at State House Nairobi barely a day after the inauguration of President William Ruto,” said Mumia.

According to Mumia, the State House is the official residence of the President and should be used for State functions only and not religious functions.

“The State House, which is the official residence of the President, should be used for State functions only, and not religious functions. Any religious functions by the first family should be conducted in their private residence.” Mumia added.

Mumia further added that the First Lady was effectively transforming the State House into a religious playfield.

“Rachel Ruto is effectively transforming the statehouse into a religious playfield. This goes against Articles 8 and 32 of our Constitution,” Mumia added.

The recent remarks by the Atheist of Kenya Society comes in the backdrop of Rachel hosting Ndlovu of the Divine Kingdom Baptist Church based in Zimbabwe at State House, Nairobi.

On her social media, Madam Rachel said the renowned Prophet had visited her together with his wife Angel Ndlovu.

“It was a pleasure hosting Dr Ian Ndlovu and his wife Evangelist Angel Ndlovu who paid me a courtesy call at State House, Nairobi,” Rachael wrote on Twitter.
