Supplies agency demands Sh674,000 from real estate firm for supply of containers used by KCB in Athi River

According to a demand letter seen by The Informer Media Group, the real estate company was supplied with the two containers valued at Sh1,044,000 by the supplies firm and invoices written to them but only Sh370, 000 last month after two months of waiting.

A supplies firm, Steadfast Commercial Agencies, has issued a demand letter to MilikiSpace Limited, a real estate company, over a Ksh 674,000 debt arising from supply of two containers being used by Kenya Commercial Bank at its Athi River site in the sale of East African Portland Cement land.

According to the demand letter seen by The Informer Media Group, the real estate company was supplied with the two containers valued at Ksh 1,044,000 by the supplies firm and invoices written to them but only Ksh 370, 000 last month after two months of waiting.

The letter indicated that the real estate company has not been replying to the request to clear the debt despite numerous calls and WhatsApp messages sent to them.

“Our client Steadfast Commercial Agencies got into an agreement with you (KCB) to supply two containers worth Sh1,044,000 inclusive of VAT. Despite writing two invoices on November 18th 202 and December 24th, 2024, attempts to reach you on call and WhatsApp to clear the remaining balance have been unfruitful,” Bonventure Associate Advocates stated in the letter.

The supplies firm has accused MilkiSpace of jeopardising their work in terms of economic effect by their neglect to honor the payments.

They have hence issued a one-week ultimatum to the real estate company to ensure the remaining amount is paid together with the collection cost of the advocates or they sue them over the same.

“unless payment of the sum of Six Hundred and Seventy-Four Thousand Kenya Shillings (Kshs. 674,000.00/=) and our collection cost of Seventy Thousand Kenya Shillings (Kshs.70,000.00/=) is received by us in full within seven (7) days of the date of this letter, our instructions are to commence legal proceedings against yourselves without further reference to you. Be well advised,” the lawyers stated.

KCB began the regularisation of East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC) land in 2024 and it contracted MilkiSpace for the procurement of the containers being used at the facility though we are not sure if the real estate company is also the one involved in the sale of the property to the Machakos residents.
