Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo preside over 97th Kenya Music Cultural and Festivals

The Deputy Chief of Staff Performance and Delivery Management Eliud Owalo today officiated the 97th Edition of the Kenya Music and Culture festivals held at Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi.

He was representing Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.

“Delighted to attend and deliver the keynote address on behalf of the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, during the 97th Edition of the Kenya Music and Cultural Festival Winners Concert at the Bomas of Kenya this afternoon. The festival showcases the rich heritage of our nation expressed in music, dance, poetry, drama, film, fashion, culinary arts as well as other emerging technology aided artforms.” Owalo said.

This year’s edition which was held at Taita Taveta county showcased the rich heritage of our nation expressed in music, dance, poetry, drama, film, fashion, culinary arts as well as other emerging technology aided art forms.

The Event was attended by the Culture, the arts and Heritage Principal Secretary Ummi Bashir.and Garisa Member of Parliament (MP) Major Dekow Barrow.

Owalo said the Kenya Music and Culture Festival is a celebration of our nation’s diverse cultural expressions and a platform that nurtures the creativity, talent, and skills of our people.

He said for 97 years, this festival has played a pivotal role in preserving and promoting Kenya’s artistic traditions, while also encouraging the evolution of new cultural forms.

The Deputy Chief of Staff reiterated the government of Kenya’s commitment in supporting the Culture sector as one of the pillars in our nation’s development agenda.
