Bien reign supreme in Spotify Wrapped 2024
Kenya is abuzz with excitement as Spotify Wrapped 2024 reveals the year’s top artists, songs, and trends. At the forefront is the soulful Bien Aime Baraza, crowned as Kenya’s most-streamed local artiste.
Following Sauti Sol’s 2023 hiatus, Bien has continued to soar as a solo artiste, captivating fans with his authentic Afro-pop sound. His hits, including “Lifestyle”, “Ma Cherie”, and the poignant “Inauma”, showcase his knack for blending emotion and rhythm. Joining him in the spotlight is Wakadinali, whose powerful beats and lyrics underscore the dynamic evolution of Kenyan hip-hop.
Kenyan music is thriving, with local artists making a mark both at home and abroad.
While Sauti Sol ranks 12th among Kenya’s most-streamed artistes, their influence remains strong, especially with their acclaimed “Midnight Train” album. Meanwhile, Arbantone, a uniquely Kenyan sound, is gaining traction on international stages, further cementing the country’s global presence.
Spotify Wrapped 2024 paints a vivid picture of Kenya’s diverse listening habits.
Younger audiences are vibing with Lil Maina and the viral sosatheprodigyy-“Nakam Sai”, while older listeners turn to the soulful melodies of Israel Mbonyi and Christina Shusho.
