Mungaro pledges to construct ICT centres if elected Kilifi governor

Kilifi gubernatorial candidate on the  jubilee ticket Gideon Mungaro has pledged to construct seven ICT centers in all the sub-counties and install free internet services for the youth.

The construction of the ICT centre is among his development programs in his manifesto which he said will be launched on Saturday.

Addressing campaign rallies in Kisurutini and Mwawesa wards in Rabai constituency,  Mung’aro said many tech savvy youths in the county have no place to horn their skills because it is hard for them to access internet.

“These centres will assist our youths to engage in research and online business which has become a hub for business in the digital world. This is possible but because of bad and corrupt leadership, such ideas have not been utilized”,said Mungaro.

Mung’aro also vowed to launch the Kilifi higher Education loans board(Kelb) a replica of the national government’s Higher Education Loans Board(HELB) to provide loans for University students from the region.

“The current county government launched the county scholarship fund but the ideologies for the funds, did not meet the expectations of the people, how  can you give Sh5, 000 as bursary for a University student, yet you expect him to clear his or her school fees. It is for this reason that we decided to have a fully education loans board specifically for our University students,” he said.

He further vowed to ensure that, the residents of Rabai got  clean and piped water in a record 100 days after his election as a governor.
