Tragedy as fire raze down property at Pumwani Maternity Hospital

Pumwani Maternity Hospital is counting losses after a fire broke down at the hospital’s commodity and pharmacy store today dawn.

A statement from the Nairobi county government indicated that the fire broke out at around 3:30 am.

The fire was however put off by the Nairobi City County fire and rescue services team which arrived shortly after the incident

The County Executive in charge of Health Anastacia Nyalita confirmed that no casualties were reported from the incident.

“The Nairobi City County fire and the rescue team responded in a record of 10 minutes and put out the fire. There were no casualties,” she said.

Investigations into the cause of the fire is underway.
