Interior CS Kindiki appoint ex-police boss Yakub chair of firearms board

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has appointed Yakub Rashid Abdallah as the chairperson of the Firearms Licensing Board for a three-year term effective February 1,2023.

Through a gazette notice, Kindiki announced that Yakub takes over from Charles Mwongera Mukindia-whose appointment has been revoked.

Mukindia will go back to his former station at the National Intelligence Service after serving as chairman of the licensing board since November 2018.

Prior to his appointment, Yakub had served as the senior assistant Inspector General of Police (SAIG).
