Relief for Susan Kihika as high court allows her to vie for Nakuru senate seat

The High Court today quashed a decision by the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal to disqualify Susan Kihika from the Nakuru senatorial race.

Justice George Odunga in his ruling said that Political Parties Tribunal had no jurisdiction to hear the matter and erred in barring the senatorial aspirant.

“The tribunal did not have a jurisdiction to interpret the law, hear and determine the matter,” said Odunga.
 
 Kihika is the Jubilee nominee for the seat. 
 He termed PPDT decision as null and void and quashed it.

“The decision made on June 12, 2017 must be null and void and is therefore quashed,” said Odunga.
