Middle-aged man allegedly kill mother under unclear circumstances in Kisumu

Police in Kisumu have launched investigations into the alleged murder of Migingo Girls Secondary School Deputy Principal Roselyn Nyawanda by her son.

Her death was confirmed by School Principal, Irene Otieno over the weekend.

The incident is reported to have occurred on Saturday night.

According to a police report, Nyawanda was reportedly killed in her house within the school compound on Saturday, August 20.

Her body was found lying in the bathroom yesterday night, burnt beyond recognition.

It is alleged that the deceased’s son in his mid-20s, who is a drug addict and not mentally stable, killed his mother and attempted to burn her body using clothes inside their house.

The body was taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination while the suspect was placed in police custody pending investigations before arraignment in court.
