‘Uhuru hesitant in congratulating Ruto’ – Mudavadi says
Amani National Congress party(ANC) has hit out at President Uhuru Kenyatta over what he termed hesitation in congratulating President-elect William Ruto after his win in the just concluded General Elections.
Mudavadi said Kenyans are still in a state of denial after Ruto was declared the eventual winner by electoral body Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati.
“The reality now is that the Kenya Gazette has come out, and it has specifically stated that President-elect is William Ruto however we are seeing a state of denial by a section of Kenyans and media houses, but people should internalize the reality,” Mudavadi said.
The ANC party leader who was speaking during a Kenya Kwanza media briefing, further said that their political competitors Azimio la Umoja one Coalition have the constitutional right to seek legal advice but should try to be realistic with the matter at hand.
In the Kenya Kwanza Alliance agreement, all party leaders in the coalition were promised high positions in government.
Mudavadi, party leader of Amani National Congress (ANC) was nominated for the Chief Cabinet Secretary role.
Alfred Mutua of Maendeleo Chap Chap, Justin Muturi of Democratic Party, Chama cha Mashinani’s Isaac Ruto and PAA party leader Amason Kingi were also similarly assured of influential dockets in government if the Kenya Kwanza leadership takes over from the outgoing Jubilee government.
Azimio la Umoja one Coalition have since disputed the just concluded General Elections Presidential results.
The coalition led by former Prime minister Raila Odinga have said they have enough evidence to proceed to the corridors of powers as Kenyans await to see the outcome of the result at the Supreme Court.
