Azimio Kisii leaders in Nairobi endorse Wanyonyi as Westlands MP candidate

A section of the Kisii community in Nairobi has endorsed Tim Wanyonyi as Westlands Member of Parliament candidate.

Speaking during his endorsement, he drummed up support for Azimio One Kenya Alliance noting that the next government will be formed by Raila Odinga.

” When I was called by Odinga and the president to step down, I had no other choice but to oblige,” he said.

He further urged support from Nairobi residents in the coming general elections.

“Your numbers count, you matter, we need your vote like yesterday,” Wanyonyi said.

Westland’s parliamentary aspirant Michael Gumo stepped down from the August race in favour of incumbent MP Wanyonyi.

Gumo had moved to court seeking to stop Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) move to issue a direct ticket to Wanyonyi.

Through lawyer Dancun Okatch, Magero who is the son of former Westlands MP Fred Gumo also wants ODM restrained from submitting the name of Wanyonyi to IEBC as the party’s nominee for Westlands Constituency pending the hearing of the suit.

“A permanent injunction restraining issuance of the nomination certificate to any other party from the appellant as the party’s nominee for the Member of Parliament position- Westlands Constituency,” lawyer Okatch states in the suit papers.
