Governor Mutua promises youths five million new jobs as he launches manifesto

Maendeleo Chap Chap leader Alfred Mutua has promised to empower youths by creating five million new jobs for them in the first three years of his presidency if elected as the fifth President.

According to Mutua, that will be achieved through tax breaks of up to five per cent for companies that hire ten or more youths at entry level as well as tax reliefs of fifty per cent for businesses run by youth.

He said that his government will invest heavily in youth development by creating a conducive business environment.

“My government will create five million new jobs for the youth in the first three years of my presidency,” Mutua said.

Mutua has also pledged to put in place policies to support and strengthen the manufacturing industry.

“Kenya has the capacity of producing goods for sale in all African nations. It will be the manufacturing hub of Africa. This will generate directly and indirectly two million jobs within two years,” he said.

Additionally, Mutua promised loans of between Sh500,000 and one million shillings for every newlywed couple as gifts from his government.

Mutua said the loan will be repayable over a period of up to 20 years at a rate of 0.5 per cent interest when he launched his presidential manifesto on Sunday.

“Newlyweds will receive an initial capital from my government of Sh500,000 to Sh1 million in kind, payable over 20 years at an interest rate of 0.5 per cent as a gift from the government to invest in their new home and entrench the family institution,” he stated.

He has also promised to make credit more accessible by eliminating the need for a surety in order to access the youth fund, which will be available to both individuals and partnerships for amounts up to Sh500,000.

“You will only need one registration form, two supporting documents, one-page business plan, and it will be processed and given to you within 24 hours. Online applications will also be accepted,” noted Mutua.

On health, Mutua expressed confidence that 100 per cent Government-funded healthcare for citizens was practical.

“Chap Chap government will provide a grant to all counties to upgrade healthcare facilities and equipment, focusing on preventive and early detection of diseases. Dispensaries and health centers countrywide will be brought to a minimum standard,” said Mutua.
