President Uhuru dares Ruto to quit government if dissatisatisfied

Preident Uhuru Kenyatta has now asked Deputy President William Ruto to resign if he is dissatisfied with the government operations.

Speaking in a meeting with the country’s senior editors at the State House, Kenyatta criticised Ruto for condemning the same government that he serves yet being unwilling to get out.

“I have an agenda that I was elected on. The honourable thing to do if you are not happy with it is to step aside and allow those who want to move on to do so then take the agenda to the people,” he said.

“You must decide where you want to. Not to sing praises of the government and speak another language the other side.”

The Head of the State said that he had no problem with Ruto building his political base.

He, however, questioned the methods the United Democratic Alliance team has employed in their 2022 campaigns.

“I have no idea of what has transpired except for the fact that he is trying to establish a base for his future politics. I feel it is unfortunate the manner he is doing it is wrong,” the president said.

The bad blood between Kenyatta and Ruto that has caused anxiety in the county started after the handshake that brought together the President and Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.

The new love affair between Kenyatta and Raila birthed Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which aimed at bringing about peace and justice.

However, Ruto opposed the BBI initiative dismissing his boss as a clueless leader who has fallen under the spell of his political competitor Odinga.

Ruto also said that Kenyans are suffering economically precisely because Kenyatta and Raila are more interested in political matters like BBI and power sharing instead of the Big Four Agenda that was supposed to consolidate the gains in the first term.

This brought about dispute in Jubilee’s administration, making Ruto form his own party UDA.
