Court acquits Moses Kuria of assault charges against TV commentator

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has today been acquitted of assault charges against a female televison commentator.

This comes after the complainant Joyce Wanja Gacie withdrew the case against him.

“I allow the request by the complainant and withdraw the charges against the accused MP Kuria under section 204 of the Criminal Procedural Code(CPC) and order the cash he deposited in court be refunded,” Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku.

Wanja denied being paid or coerced to have the case withdrawn informing the court that she wished not to give any reasons.

Kuria, who had been released on Sh20, 000,  had been accused of assaulting Wanja at the Royal Media Services premises in December 2019.
