Nairobi Water issue two days supply disruption advisory along Waiyaki Way

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company(NCWSC) has announced a two days water disruption advisory  along Waiyaki Way in Nairobi.

The water supply pipeline will be shut from Kabete Water Treatment works from tommorrow 6:00 am to Thursday at 6:00 am.

“The shutdown is to facilitate the reconnection of relocated pipeline to the old pipeline at the old pipeline at the junction of Waiyaki Way Road and James Gichuru Road,” read part of the notice.

According to NCWSC, this will enable release of the road section between Nairobi School and the junction of Waiyaki Way Road and James Gichuru Road to the Expressway road contractor.

Areas to be affected include estates along Waiyaki Way, Rhapta Road, Parklands Road and Church Road Westlands, Highridge and Parklands areas.

Nairobi School, MP Shah Hospital Muguga Green Estate, Sarit Centre and the surrounding estates will also be affected.

Nairobi Water has appealed to affected customers to use available water sparingly as they work towards restoring the supply.

Meanwhile, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) had earlier announced that two major roads in the city will be closed beginning yesterday to enable the contractor of the Expressway to complete construction.

The road closures will force motorists using the Capital Centre access and Waiyaki Way to use alternate routes.

Kenha said that the closure of the ramp from Waiyaki Way to Forest Road will last for a period of 34 days starting June 28, 2021.

“This is to pave way for construction of the Nairobi expressway along Mombasa Road. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. Kenha apologizes for the inconvenience as it tries to provide an efficient, safe and reliable road network,” the authority said.
