John Cardinal Njue has challenged political leaders to close loopholes that may spark violence during and after the election.
Speaking in Kiriko Catholic Church in Gatundu North sub-county on Sunday, the cardinal called for prevalence of peace, unity and cohesiveness among both elected and aspiring leaders.
“I also urge Christians across the country to pray for peace during this sensitive electioneering period; let us also pray for our leaders so that whatever they will say and do will not be divisive but uniting,” he said.
He also appealed for the drought-stricken urging Kenyans to continue extending acts of mercy to the starving as well as those affected by cattle rustling in Baringo.
