Two suspects linked to the murder of Loyamorok MCA Fredrick Kibet
Cheretei and Tiaty Parliamentary aspirant Simon Kitamba Pepee were
today arraigned before a Kabarnet Law Court.
Titus Longor Tuwot Lomotongole and Joshua Yatta who were arrested on
Friday last week were accused that between February 10 and 18 last
month, they planned the murder of the two Jubilee politicians at
T-junction bar and restaurant in Marigat town.
The suspects however could not take plea when the case was brought
before Kabarnet Resident Magistrate Ezra Oyuka as the investigating
officer swore an affidavit to detain them for 14 days.
In his sworn affidavit Senior Sergeant (SGT) Tobia Mwita from DCI
headquarters Serious Crime Unit pleaded with the court to allow him to
detain the suspects at Kabarnet police station cells to allow him
complete investigations.
During the court proceeding, photojournalists had rough time getting
pictures of court proceeding after they were denied entry into the
court chamber wehere the two suspects were shielded by heavily armed
uniformed officers who kept vigil to protect the suspects from expose
by media.
