At least 14 teachers have been assaulted owing to the wave of unrest in schools across the country, the Teachers Service Commission has said.
Chief executive officer Nancy Macharia on Thursday said four of the teachers are from Migori county, five from Chalbi in Marsabit and five others from Elgeyo Marakwet.
Macharia made the revelations when she appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Education on Thursday.
She said delocalisation of teachers was done in December and dismissed claims that the transfers contributed to chaos in schools.
At least 1,065 principals were moved to new workstations in December.
Some 107 schools were hit by disturbances, this included 31 walkouts; there was destruction of property in 14 schools and 63 arsons.
At least 186 students have been arrested over the chaos; Nairobi and Makueni have the highest number of 32 students each.
