Azimio la Umoja presidential running mate Martha Karua received a raucous welcome during her tour to Kirinyaga county today.
Traffic was affected in numerous portions of the county’s key roadways and security was increased.
A motorcade procession crisscrossed the county, transporting senior state officials, county legislators and other coalition leaders and supporters.
The convoy began at the Makutano Junction and proceeded to Mutithi, Murubara and Kutus.
Karua praised the Kutus villagers for their support and appreciation of her appointment.
She stated that she was willing to serve the country as a deputy president if Azimio was elected.
“I’m grateful for your overwhelming support that you showed to me yesterday. I’m positive we shall clinch this seat so that we can continue serving you. Give leadership jobs to accountable people who will secure your funds,” she said.
Raila Odinga, the head of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), will soon tour the area in her company to seek support for the top seat, she claimed.
Karua pleaded with county inhabitants to give the coalition a chance to help them improve their lives.
She also stated that the alliance is made up of people who have the best interests of the country at heart and whose reputations are unblemished.
