Ford Kenya leaders, allied to Bungoma Senator and Party leader, Moses Wetangula are set to hold National Delegates Conference ( NDC) and conduct polls to end the wrangles pitting Wetangula faction and that of Kanduyi Member of parliament, Wafula wamunyinyi.
Wetangula said during a consultative meeting of leaders drawn from Kisii and Nyamira counties at a Kisii hotel yesterday he was satisfied with their unwavering support for him and the party.
The party leader, accompanied by Deputy leader, Richard Onyonka, Mp, Kitutu Chache South and West Mugirango counterpart, Vincent Kemosi said the signing of the Building Bridges Initiative document was on and urged Kenyans to sign it.
He said contentious issues and those which were causing divisions had been edited and removed respectively, adding nobody will embrace divisive theories that the winner takes it all and the loser goes home hungry once the BBI Bill is passed.
“ Ford Kenya supports BBI and has ensured the process is brought to fruition and is embraced and owned by Kenyans” Wetangula said, adding the signatures will be verified by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission before the Bill is tabled in County Assemblies for passage.
The Ford Kenya leader said it is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s idea that Kenyans have a sense of ownership and is not for a few individuals.
He said he wants a country where hard working Kenyans are rewarded, People Living with Disabilities respected and women play their rightful roles in the country’s leadership.
Onyonka said the party leader played a critical role in ensuring outstanding issues are sorted out and the Mp urged Gusii residents to sign the document to reach the target of one million signatures.
Meanwhile, Nyaribari Masaba Mp, Ezekiel Machogu has urged the government to provide copies of BBI for people to read to avoid being misled by leaders propagating propaganda.
Speaking during the launching of the signing of the document in Masimba Market on Saturday, the Mp said the document has good provisions for all Kenyans.
He urged Kenyans to read it, understand it and make informed decisions during the referendum expected next year.
