Police officer killed by colleague in a love triangle fight in Kitengela
The two officers were involved in a scuffle over Wavinya, whereby the deceased was overpowered and thrown from the house through the balcony, where he fell to his death
A police officer attached to the Kitengela Police Station died after he was thrown from the fourth floor balcony of an apartment by a colleague following after a fight over a woman.
According to a police report seen by the Informer Media Group, the deceased, Constable Manasseh Ithiru, was dropped by a boda boda rider at the apartment to visit his girlfriend, identified as Irene Wavinya Nzioka.
“It was further established that the deceased had called the boda boda to dropped him at the said apartment at around 1900hrs, and he was to pick him up later. The deceased had visited his girlfriend named Irene Wavinya Nzioka, who is also a tenant at the said apartment, room 416,” the police report stated in part.
Ithiru is reported to have been thrown from the house through the balcony after a scuffle ensued when his colleague, Abubakar Said, attached to the Critical Infrastructure Police Unit based at the Export Processing Zone in Athi River, who is also Wavinya’s boyfriend, visited her and found him there.
The two officers were involved in a scuffle over Wavinya, whereby the deceased was overpowered and thrown from the house through the balcony, where he fell to his death.
“While the two were inside the room another man who turned out to be a police officer attached to CIPU EPZ Camp Athi River also a boyfriend of the same lady visited her house and its believed a scuffle ensued between the two officers over the lady where by the deceased was overpowered and thrown from the house through the balcony where he met his death,” the police report added.
When the rider returned to pick Ithiru, he called the police to report the incident and police officers and DCI personnel rushed to the scene where they found his lifeless body lying in a pool of blood in the parking load in a supine position.
Crime Scene investigating officers processed the scene and Said, a police sergeant, and Wavinya arrested to help the police with investigations into the death.
The body of the deceased was moved to Shalom Hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
