DP Gachagua allege planned plot by previous regime to execute Itumbi
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has alleged that the previous government had made plans to have Dennis Itumbi murdered.
Speaking today during a thanksgiving service at Kerugoya, Kirinyaga county, Gachagua revealed that the perpetrators planned to have Itumbi killed for leaning to President William Ruto.
He alleged that the previous regime made the orders to have Itumbi murdered and former DCI boss George Kinoti sent for his capture.
“The order was made and Kinoti immediately sent for Itumbi’s capture. He was put in a car and tortured,” he said.
He added that the plan was dropped following heightened social media outrage.
According to Gachagua, the perpetrators released Itumbi and a motorist came to his rescue and took him to Nairobi hospital.
He also responded to ‘critics” from Azimio One Kenya coalition who had claimed that Itumbi had been sidelined by Ruto while forming his communication team at State House.
“Itumbi has no official office but he is in charge of everything, he arranges everything,” he said.
