Kamama to relinquish his position as National Security committee chair over Baringo attacks

Embattled chairperson of the National Assembly Committee on National Security and Administration Asman Kamama will finally be removed from the position following claims that he was using it to intimidate state officers in the violent Baringo County.

Kamama’s Tiaty constituency has been hit by a spate of violent clashes which have left scores dead and others injured.

Pressure has been mounting on Kamama to quit the position but he has remained undermant, maintaining that he was not involved in the violence or in any way incited the locals.

Today leader of majority Aden Duale confirmed that the Jubilee leadership had resolved to have Kamama removed from the position.

Reports have it that Kamama will swap positions with the chair of the Energy Committee Jamleck Kamau, though Duale did not confirm the reports.

Duale spoke even as Pressure on Kamama to be replaced as the chairperson of the commitee continued to pile outside the precincts of parliament as a petition was presented to Parliament to address state of security in Baringo.
