KPC advertise MD post after court suspended reappointment of Joe Sang

The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has advertised the position of Managing Director days after the High Court suspended the reappointment of Joe Sang in its acting position.

This follows an application by the LSK challenging his reappointment claiming that it was against the constitution and the set standards that govern the recruitment of public officers in a fair competition and merit.

LSK had argued that that there was no advertisement for the position at the time and none had been put forth so far.

The court had therefore ordered that the acting Managing Director to be appointed by the board from within the state corporation’s board.

The board had reinstated Sang following the withdrawal of the Sh1.9billion graft case last year.

His reappointment was okayed by Attorney General Justin Muturi stating that there was nothing wrong with appointing an external person to be the KPC boss in the circumstance that the board did not find a suitable candidate within the state corporation.
