Museveni’s son Gen Muhoozi to retire from army
In a statement through his Twitter handle, Yoweri Museveni’s son Muhoozi Kainerugaba said he had gladly served the military for the last 28 years with diligence and grace.
He further said that it was with great delight that he had left the military having achieved so much.
He was congratulating the men and women in the military who serve the country of Uganda.
His retirement has caused talks that he was preparing himself for the topmost position in the country to replace his father.
Just two days ago, Muhoozi, still on Twitter, had written about his recent conversation with President Paul Kagame over a border dispute that has been in effect since 2019.
He assured Ugandans that the border would be fully opened. In the tweet, He referred to President Kagame as his uncle.
Muhhozi is the only son of President Museveni and his wife Janet Museveni, and he schooled in Tanzania, Kenya and Sweden.
He has enjoyed an easy life in the military, rising through the ranks and attending world-class military academies. Most Ugandan believe that he could be next in line for the country’s top job.
