Kenyan MPs beat rival Uganda in men’s volleyball in ongoing EAC inter-parliamentary games

In a heated showdown at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa County, Kenya’s men’s volleyball team reaffirmed their dominance with a commanding 3-1 sets victory over Uganda yesterday evening in the ongoing East Africa Community (EAC) inter-parliamentary games.

Kenya, the defending champions displayed exceptional skill and teamwork to the delight of an electrified home crowd, claiming the sets 25-20, 27-25 and 25-17.

Uganda managed to edge out a closely contested first set 26-24 but Kenya’s resilience and tactical brilliance saw them turn the tide in style.

The game which began at 6:18 p.m., was full of emotions from the start.

Uganda took the early momentum, scoring the first point just 10 seconds into the match igniting a spirited atmosphere in the packed arena.

Fans from both nations, waving flags and singing transformed the venue into a vibrant carnival of sportsmanship and regional pride.

Despite Uganda’s early triumph in the opening set, Kenya recalibrated their strategy and delivered an exciting response.

The second set proved to be the turning point as Kenya edged out Uganda 25-20 in a nerve-wracking duel that had the crowd on its feet.

Kenya’s domination became evident in the third and fourth sets as their aggressive spiking, precise blocking and seamless teamwork left Uganda struggling to find answers.

By the final whistle, Kenya had cemented their reputation as the volleyball giants of the region in the Inter Parliamentary games.

Speaking after the match, regional legislators hailed the games as a vital unifying force, praising it for fostering friendship and promoting East African integration.
