Raila’s younger sister Ruth Odinga clinch Kisumu Women Representative seat
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Ruth Odinga has emerged victorious to become the newly elected Kisumu Women Representative.
She troiunced her closest competitor Valentine Anyango of the Movement for Democracy and Growth Party (MDG) in a tight battle to secure the seat.
Ruth enjoyed overwhelming commanding lead garnering 304,419 votes while Anyango managed a distant 80,117 votes.
Independent candidate Rose Auma managed36,692 votes while the United Democratic Alliance’s Filgona Atieno garnered 7, 825 votes.
Ruth has served as the deputy governor for Kisumu during Jack Ranguma’s time in office as governor.
This is the second win in the Odinga family as his brother Oburu Oginga recently won the Siaya’s Senatorial seat.
Oginga secured a decisive victory against his main rival Oscar Omondi Onyango of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K).
