Huge relief for residents as new Huduma Centre in Kiambu is operationalised

Construction of a new Huduma Centre at Kamwangi village in Gatundu North constituency has been acclaimed as having eased pressure at the ever crowded and lone centre in Thika town.

Kiambu Huduma Centre manager Susan Wangu told journalists that the singular centre has been serving over 2,500 customers on a daily basis, a situation that has been characterized by long queues by service-seekers from the entire county.

With completion and operationalization of Kamwangi Huduma Centre, Wangu noted that pressure at the centre she heads will reduce as the new facility will effectively serve Gatundu North and Gatundu South constituents.

She revealed that the government has plans to put up such facilities in all the sub-counties to devolve the enhanced services further to Kenyans.

Since the inception of Huduma Centres in the country, an initiative that sought to ensure access to efficient, effective and citizen-centric services through One-Stop-Shop platforms, Wangu noted that Kenyans have been receiving better services without much struggle.

Locals lauded the initiative saying they will no longer spend a whole day travelling and seeking various services.

They noted that they have been incurring huge travel and meal costs while going for services in Thika, a situation that is now past tense following operationalization of Kamwangi centre.

As Kenyans continue to celebrate customer service week, government officers and private institutions have been urged to be keen on offering better services to customers.

James Nyoro from Cascade Institute of Hospitality noted that highly satisfied customers buy more, stay longer, and tell their friends.

During the customer service week, Cascade has been partnering with Kiambu Huduma Centre to offer customers free gifts, enhanced services, rewards, tea and snacks alongside inspirational talks to keep them motivated.
