Guardian Angel passengers narrowly escape death after bus bursts into flame

Passengers aboard a Guardian Angel bus from Nairobi to Western Kenya luckily escaped without being injured after their bus burst into flames at the Gitaru Interchange.
Photos and Videos seen online by those who witnessed the incident show that the most affected part of the vehicle was the rear tyre, where the fire is suspected to have started.
The passengers were forced to flee and escape being injured.
“A Guardian Angel bus caught fire at the Gitaru interchange after the wheels got jammed. Firefighters have responded positively. No casualties reported,” a social media user, Ras Wa Naivasha, wrote on Facebook.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known. However, at the time of publication, firefighters were at the scene to tame the fire.
No casualties were reported from the incident, and the bus has not yet issued a statement.
Police were also at the scene to commence investigations and direct the flow of traffic, given that the road had been blocked when the firefighters were putting out the fire.
The Incident comes hours after police launched investigations after 40 people escaped death by a whisker after a Guardian bus they were traveling in was involved in an accident near Kapkwen area.
The 40 were injured after the Kisii-bound Guardian Angel bus veered off Kaplong Road near Kapkwen while trying to avoid a lorry.
The bus overturned, leaving eight people in serious condition who have since been admitted to Tenwek Hospital.
Kenyans on social media have called for a solution to be found, saying they are tired of incidents involving company’s buses.
“Can we find a lasting solution for these fleets? We are tired of hearing these reports every time,” social media user, John Belle, stated.
“Recently, a Guardian bus was involved in an accident at Kisii. Today again another Guardian bus has caught fire. What‘s the reason behind all these tragedies?” Ken John said.
“Bus operators you are requested to thoroughly consider checking the luggage customers carry and want them loaded onto the bus booths. You might notice that the luggage has some inflammable items. Before loading the luggage ask your customers to check if they have any inflammable items. A bus cannot just burst into flames without any causative agent including mechanical problems,” Osiemo Nyaoncho advised.
