Man arrested in possession of firearms, ammunition, police uniform in Turkana

Police officers from Lodwar arrested a 45-year-old man in possession of a pistol and an assortment of government stores in Turkana County.

Peter Lolimo was arrested by officers from Lodwar Police Station who were acting on a tip off from members of the public at a resnted premises.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the police raided the premises and recovered illegal weapons.

“A search in the house revealed a Luger Pistol with a fully loaded magazine, pistol holster, American jungle uniform, several pairs of uniforms belonging to different disciplined services in the country and apair of handcuffs,” stated the police.

The suspect was escorted to the station and placed in custody as he awaits arraignment in court.

Detailed investigations have commenced to unearth the source of the items, and his accomplices.

“We commend wananchi in Lodwar for the special support accorded to our officers, and for the productive partnership cultivated in the Nyumba Kumi Initiative,” stated the police.
