A Nairobi traffic policeman has been fined Sh1 million and one year in jail in default for obtaining a bribe of Sh5,250 from PSV operators.
Dan Mburu was fined Sh500,000 for the offence and for abuse of office when he appeared before chief magistrate Douglas Ogoti of the Anti-corruption court.
Mburu was based under the sub traffic base at the Makongeni police station and obtained the cash at Muthurwa.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission said the officer was arrested in a sting operation along Muthurwa Access Road on November 9 last year.
