The National Supper Alliance (NASA) has picked its principals, Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka relatives as its nominees to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

The opposition has nominated  former MP Oburu Oginga and  Musyoka’s son Kennedy  as its nominees to sit in the assembly.

Today, during a motion to approve the members of the Joint select committee to pick the Eala members, Suna East Mp Junet Mohammed said the opposition had settled on Oburu, Kennedy Musyoka and another person to be decided later.

“We have concluded that two of the slots will go to our two leaders, that is Raila Odinga and Kalonzo to pick,” said Junet.

While Jubilee will have six slots, the minority will have three according toNational Assembly Leader of Majority Aden Duale.

The joint committee will be chaired by Katoo Ole Metito (Kajiado South), Jane Kihara (Naivasha), Jeremiah Kioni (Ndaragua), Dan Maanzo (Makueni) and Florence Mutua (Busia County). Senate will pick five members.

Duale said that the Jubilee side will not bring back the nominees tabled in the eleventh parliament but Kenyans will be open to apply afresh.

The two main protagonists failed to agree on the list of nominees in June just before the 11th Parliament adjourned sine-die.

The contention then was the number of nominees the opposition was supposed to submit after Jubilee demanded rejected its four names as opposed to the required 15 maximum nominees.
