The husband for the murdered HillCrest Preparatory Headmistress Gabrielle Amada Maina has been arrested alongside another accomplice in connection with the killing.
Cyrus Maina and the alleged accomplice whom the police are yet to reveal his identity were arrested on Monday evening and detained at Karen Police Station for interrogation.
Homicide detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations suspect shooting of Gabrielle could have been a premeditated execution.
“Yes, Cyrus Maina and another have been arrested to assist in investigations of the case,” Karen Division Police boss Cunningham Suiyanka said.
Gabrielle was shot on the left side of the neck by two armed gangsters who escaped using a motorbike last week.
A postmortem analysis conducted by Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor showed the deceased was shot at close range to the left side of the neck and exited through the right side of her back.
The bullet also punctured her lungs causing internal hemorrhage. She was attacked at mid morning near Karen County Lodge.
