Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has called on Kenyans to turn up in large numbers and vote in the presidential repeat polls slated for October 26.
Speaking in Mwatate during Mashujaa day celebrations, Governor Samboja who was elected on Wiper Party ticket defied opposition’s poll boycott calls and urged Kenyans to cast their votes.
“Come out in large numbers and vote on October 26 ,it is your Democratic right and no one should bar you from taking part in the national exercise,” he said
Samboja told the residents that the repeat presidential elections will continue as planned because Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commison(IEBC) has not cancelled the polls off.
“You should go and vote because I have not heard IEBC call it off,” he said.
Governor Samboja maintained that he will work closely,with President Uhuru Kenyatta for the purpose of developing the country.
The County boss said he was nit bothered,by all sorts of insults directed to him for supporting the government saying he was obliged to work with all leaders to enable him deliver on his mandate.
