Other appointees are K24 senior reporter Job Mwaura who has been appointed the Director of Governor’s Press service, while another Mediamax senior reporter Sarah Ndung’u of People Daily will be the Media Liason.

Gakuo was praised during his tenure for having transformed the city in terms of cleanness and order . He also served under former governor Evans Kidero as the CEC in charge of Environment.

Businessman Pius Njeru will be Personal secretary to the governor.

Governor Sonko is also giving the social media a vital component of his administration after establishing the department to be headed by John Mwangi. The department will have eight staff members tasked to inform the county residents on development agenda and the performance of his administration.

The appointment of Mwaura and Ndung’u shows the attachment governor Sonko has with the media having nominated Star’s Managing Editor Charles Kerich for the position of County Executive Committee member for ICT.
