A KDF soldier who was killed in Somalia in an Al-Shabaab attack was yesterday laid to rest in a tearful send off at Ruiga village in Imenti Central Sub County.
The 40-year-old late George Muriungi Mbui was a lance corporal when he met his death in an ambush that left 69 soldiers dead during the dawn attack at Kulbiyow.
He left a widow Evangeline Kanana and three children aged 8,3 and 1 years. His brother James Mbui said that he served God well in church and he had gone to Somali three times and has served under the UN peace keeping mission in South Sudan.
He added that the government should provide the soldiers with more weapons and support instead of withdrawing them. Before he met his death he was stationed at Nyali 15 KR.
